Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics impresses with his classic Ford Mustang Fastback

Ford released the “original” Mustang right before the 1965 model year began. It was the start of a legendary trip that would eventually lead to the Mach-E, an electric Mustang automobile. The sixth generation of the Mustang is now out, and the seventh generation will come out sometime next year.

.

But whenever we think of classic Mustangs, we always come back to the first one. There is possibly no other American classic that is as well known today as a Mustang from 1967 to 1969. Some 1970MY cars were also cool, but things got worse after 1971. For example, the Mustang wasn’t cool again until the fifth-generation Boss 302 and GT500 models came out after 2010.

Anyway, we don’t see that many restored 1965–1966 Mustangs, especially in the more desired Fastback style.

It’s true that Jayson Tatum’s old Mustang doesn’t look completely stock. Custom suspension makes it look like it’s closer to the road. Aftermarket wheels are on it, and the NBA player’s letters are set in between custom speakers.

Tatum either bought this car or got it as a gift for his 23rd birthday last year. It doesn’t really matter. How it looks and how well it runs on the road are what matter. Plus, it’s great to see a young athlete who is a superstar honoring the auto business by driving an old car instead of one from this decade.

The player for the Boston Celtics is getting ready to play Game 1 of the 2022 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors this Friday, June 1, in San Francisco.

Tatum has scored 27 points, grabbed 6.7 boards, and passed the ball 5.8 times per game in the playoffs this year. We think this is his best season yet, and we expect him to do well against Steph Curry and the Warriors.
