The Chicago Bulls won six NBA titles with Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan as a team in the 1990s. They were the most successful backcourt in NBA history. But their relationship has been through a lot in the last few years, and it looks like they don’t even talk to or recognize each other anymore.
Marcus Jordan, who is Michael Jordan’s son, and Larsa Pippen, who used to be married to Scottie Pippen, are set to be married. Reports say that the fight between Jordan and Pippen may have affected how the LA Lakers made decisions.
Scottie Pippen Jr. was let go by the Lakers.
Scottie Pippen Jr., who is 22 years old, was waived and then let go by the Los Angeles Lakers on October 16. On an episode of the podcast “It Is What It Is,” it was suggested that the point guard was fired by the Lakers because his mother is dating Michael Jackson’s son and the team doesn’t want to be linked to the bad press.
During the show, rapper Cam’ron made it sound like Michael Jordan had something to do with the choice by saying that “one or two calls” from MJ would be enough to make it happen.
Scottie has nothing to do with this. That will make their ideas less likely to work out. He had too much going on to make time for him. Which team let him go? They don’t have much room to move. That is not something that Jeanie Buss or any of them have time for. Just give us a call. Magic Johnson tells Michael Jordan to calm down, and then he tells Jeanie Buss to do the same. It only takes two calls.
The feud between Cam’ron MJ and Scottie Pippen
Pippen wrote in his memoir, “Unguarded,” that he was very upset that Jordan took “all the credit” and didn’t feature enough of his teammates and minimized his accomplishments in the Netflix docuseries “The Last Dance.” MJ and Pippen had been seeing each other on and off, but this was the last straw in their relationship.
The fight got worse when Michael’s son Marcus started dating Pippen’s ex-wife Larsa, who he had just divorced in December 2021. In the middle to late 2022, reports spread that she was dating Marcus Jordan.
Pippen Jr. spent most of the 2022–2023 NBA season with the Spurs’ practice team, the South Bay Lakers. He spent a few games with the Los Angeles Lakers this season, contributing 5.3 MPG, 2.3 PPG, and a.333 FG% in 6 contests.
