Giannis Antetokounmpo has made it known that he will not sign a new contract with the Bucks unless the organization prioritizes winning over all other factors.
The Bucks showed off their strength by swapping champions for one another and re-signing Brook Lopez and Khris Middleton. “I don’t want to be on the same team for 20 years and not win another championship,” the Greek god, on the other hand, expresses his dissatisfaction.
.
It’s probable that by the next summer, we will formally be splitting up. Giannis Antetokounmpo’s decision to not re-sign with the Bucks may force the franchise to make a deal. The two teams most likely to be involved in a transaction are the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks.
Not just Antetokounmpo, but a number of other elite athletes have shown a desire to play for the Lakers or Knicks. The issue is that Milwaukee will have effectively taken over by now the following year.
The queue of fans waiting for Antetokounmpo would be much longer if he showed a genuine interest in attending. Pat Riley and the Miami Heat, who are led by Riley, are not expected to miss the match. Even after Stephen Curry hangs up his sneakers, the Golden State Warriors have a plan in place to keep winning.
In previous seasons, Toronto has delegated the task of scoring points to Antetokounmpo. The Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, and Los Angeles Clippers are three teams that have a shot to make it to the postseason.
Currently, there is a very good chance that the Milwaukee Bucks will set a new record for Antetokounmpo’s contract the following summer and that the 2021 NBA champion will continue to be strong enough to compete in the top East group.
The Deer Herd club is getting older and less valued because of players like Jrue Holliday (33), Middleton (not much younger), and Lopez (35). Giannis may decide to leave once his future is determined.
It seems like the Lakers are the team of choice. LeBron James’ current contract expires next year; however, even if he technically has a player option, it is highly unlikely that he will use it to play next to his child.
It would be significantly more beneficial for Antetokounmpo to play for the Knicks than the Lakers. It would be an incredible dream come true to lead the Yellow-Purple team in LeBron James’ footsteps as they aim to become the NBA’s most successful franchise.
