Man City striker Erling Haaland is the latest sports star to become a spokesperson for Beats by Dre. The Norwegian posed with NBA star LeBron James in a new ad campaign to announce his appointment.
With nine goals in nine Premier League games this season, Haaland has kept up his vicious form in front of goal. He is one of the most recognizable names in the league, and now he’ll be leading the line for a well-known headphones company.
Beats by Dre already has a lot of famous athletes working with them, like LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, Neymar of PSG, Alessia Russo of Arsenal, and Frances Tiafoe of the United States tennis team. In honor of Haaland’s Norwegian background, the campaign promoted his arrival with a picture of the striker playing with James, calling the match “The King and the Viking.”
In a YouTube video marketing the partnership, James’s wife Savannah and Haaland’s dad Alfie can be heard giving their families wise advice. About his new deal, Haaland said, “I’m excited to join the Beats family. As an athlete, Beats has long been a part of my pre-match routine.”
“I care about my family, and this campaign and partnership really show that.” When we talk about family, James, who started working for Beats by Dre in 2008, has kept his job there. His wife Savannah and children Bryce and Zhuri have also signed contracts with the company.
“It’s pretty cool to see how this relationship with our family has grown over the years,” James said. “It’s an honor to share the stage with them and a brand that has been a part of our lives since the beginning of this journey.” I value my family very much!
Haaland already has marketing deals with Samsung, Viaplay, and Hyperice. He also has a £200 million deal with Nike that lasts for more than ten years.
The 23-year-old gets paid almost £900,000 a week at Man City because his deal includes big bonuses.
He kept up his great start to the season by scoring in City’s 2-1 win over Brighton over the weekend. He scored his team’s second goal after Julian Alvarez scored the first, but Ansu Fati scored the game’s third.
