On Opening Night, during the Denver Nuggets’ game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Reggie Jackson seemed to knock LeBron James down before making a three-pointer over him, which infuriated the NBA crowd.
But, video evidence has surfaced that demonstrates that LeBron wasn’t truly humiliated by the Nuggets guard’s “broken ankles” on the play.Video proof shows Reggie Jackson caused LeBron James to fall on a viral play from the Los Angeles Lakers-Denver Nuggets matchup

Many NBA fans mocked James for having his ‘ankles broken’ immediately after the play
Before the viral play happened, early in the second half, Jamal Murray found Jackson open in the corner.
James pushed forward to block the 6-foot-2 guard’s shot.
However, the four-time NBA champion tumbled to the ground after what looked to be a jab step by the Nuggets star, and Jackson then made a three-pointer to make it 40–22 for Denver.
A sizable portion of the crowd that was watching the game took to social media to make fun of LeBron for Jackson breaking his “ankles.”
In basketball parlance, it indicates that a player fooled out a defender so badly that the defense lost balance and fell to the hardwood.
Some went so far as to say that James is becoming older and urged that the 19-time All-Star should “retire.”
However, other composed NBA fans defended the Lakers forward by posting videos of the play taken from an alternative viewpoint.
The footage showed Jackson stepping on James’ foot after feigning a shot, which knocked down the four-time MVP.
“Reggie ‘makes’ LeBron fall before canning the 3 to add insult to injury,” a user on X said.
“Watch the replay, and you’ll see he almost sprains his ankle stepping on LeBron’s foot, which is what caused LBJ to go down.”
“Clear offensive foul NOT called,” said another. Disgusting.”
Another commented: “Reggie Jackson stepped on LeBron’s foot and people gonna act like he got his ankles broken.”
Since the Nuggets defeated James and company in the conference finals and went on to win the NBA title last year, there has been a rift between Denver and Los Angeles.
The enmity was further stoked when head coach Mike Malone was referred to as “the Lakers’ daddy” by a Colorado sportscaster during the June title parade.
