This Father’s Day, Jayson Tatum spent quality time with his son by taking him on a relaxing vacation with breathtaking scenery.
The NBA player, 25, posted to Instagram on Sunday that he and his 5-year-old son Jayson “Deuce” Christopher were enjoying a day of rafting and lounging by the pool in an idyllic tropical setting.
They also take pictures together while vacationing on a boat and a jet ski.
Tatum labelled the photos, “Deuce’s dad,” which I assume refers to Deuce’s father.
Tatum became a father at the young age of 19, and his son Deuce has since become a fan favorite on the Celtics and among NBA players everywhere. Ex-girlfriend Toriah Lachell is Tatum’s roommate at Deuce.
At a press conference in June, the NBA player opened up about being a role model as a father and his strong bond with his son Deuce, whom he welcomed in December 2017, just six months after being picked by the Celtics.
Although I did not have Deuce until he was born in 2017, I consider 2017 to be the most significant year of my life thus far. “I just had a baby and am starting a new chapter in my career,” Tatum said.
The Boston Celtics player went on to say, “My mindset was not to sacrifice either, that I was going to be the best father as I could as well as the best basketball player.” There was no set procedure, and everyone had to figure it out for themselves. In the end, it came down to what made sense.
I’m just being myself. I see him frequently. Tatum remarked, “I feel like we’re growing up together as we go through this adventure together, since I was 19 when I got drafted. Since he’s gotten older, I’ve progressed professionally; we’re experiencing these milestones and developments in tandem. That’s the best part, in my opinion.
