The first regular season game of 2023-24 was played on Tuesday night between the Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns.

After two quarters, the Suns led by 15, but the Warriors came back to win the third by 21. 

However, the Suns beat them 108-104 despite this.

The Warriors were unable to win the game due in large part to their dismal shooting (10-for-43 from three-point range).

Although Klay Thompson defended well, he struggled to score (15 points on 6/18 shooting from the field and 3/11 from three-point range in 36 minutes). 

Steph Curry spoke to the press about his teammate and gave him a lot of praise after the game. 

And I know that everyone is going to want to pick on him because of our shooting %,” said Curry. It’s on the way. We put a lot of trust in Klay.

Curry, despite his 27 points, shot poorly (8/20 from the field, 4/14 from deep) in 31 minutes. 

Even though Kevin Durant scored 18 points on 7-of-22 shooting for the Suns, the team shot poorly overall (11/33 from 3-point range).  

On Friday, the Warriors will play the Sacramento Kings away from Oracle Arena. 

The Suns, meanwhile, will take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in their next game on Thursday night. 

Both squads were eliminated from the 2023 NBA Playoffs in the second round.
