Miami Heat All-Star forward Jimmy Butler stole the spotlight on media day with his “emo” hairstyle, but it looks like he’s moved on from it because he was back to his regular hairstyle and enjoying some beach time with his family.
The 13-year NBA veteran posted pictures of himself and his “offsprings” on Instagram, where they were enjoying a picnic in the sweltering Miami heat.
Jimmy Butler gained attention earlier this week when he appeared on media day wearing what he described as his “emo” outfit. It made fans and journalists in attendance during the interview sessions giggle, as well as teammates.
He styled his hair in a colorful shape with side-swept bangs and straightened it. The Marquette product described it as follows during the press conference:
Many people think that Butler’s depressed appearance was caused by the Heat’s inability to sign former All-Star player Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers this offseason. That was in spite of the fact that “Dame” had expressed his preference to be traded to Miami.
In the end, Lillard was moved, but not to the Heat. Rather, he joined forces with two-time league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo at the Milwaukee Bucks, his adversaries.
Jimmy Butler is optimistic that the Heat can still contend at a high level in the upcoming season, despite the fact that they were not selected in the Lillard sweepstakes.
Despite being the eighth-seed in the Eastern Conference, the Heat produced an incredible run to the NBA Finals the previous season. In 22 games, the six-time All-Star averaged 26.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 1.8 steals to lead the way in their exciting playoff run. But in the Finals, Miami fell short against the Denver Nuggets 4-1.
