The Los Angeles Lakers lost their first game of the season to the Denver Nuggets 119–107 on Tuesday night. Many people on social media were quick to blame one LA star for having a bad night.
It doesn’t matter that Anthony Davis had 17 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks in the end. From 6 to 17 shots, the power forward had a terrible night. He didn’t score at all in the second half.
Just like he always does, Davis put on a show in the second game of the season, beating the Phoenix Suns 100–95 with 30 points and 12 boards. Nine of those 12 rebounds were on the board that you would defend. Davis scored 10 points, made 10-17 shots, stole three balls, and blocked three shots.
Following the conclusion of the game, LeBron James went on TNT to defend his friend.”We don’t care what people say about AD,” James said. “We do not care.” We have no problems. AD does not care. I’m not sure if guys understand that.
“AD doesn’t care.” He doesn’t use social media, so he doesn’t see any of that nonsense. We really don’t care what he says unless it’s to us, because he doesn’t talk much. We’re glad to have AD because he just does his job. James also had a good game. He shot 50% from the field and scored 21 points, grabbed eight rebounds, gave nine assists, stole two balls, and blocked two.
The Suns, who played Kevin Durant, were tough. At one point in the game, Davis and Durant sat down together and laughed it off.
They are 1-1 to start the season, and they will take that record with them on the road to Sacramento on Sunday night.
The Kings beat LeBron and the rest of the Heat in three of the four regular-season games last year.
After Sacramento lost to the Golden State Warriors in seven games, the teams didn’t play each other in the playoffs.
