In only 30 minutes of action, Curry went 7-for-13 from beyond the arc and 15-for-22 overall. The 35-year-old Curry has had a fantastic start to the year. He scored 24 points (4-of-14 from 3-point range) against the Phoenix Suns, 41 points (7-of-10 from 3-point range) against the Sacramento Kings, and 16 of his 24 points (6-of-14 from 3-point range) against the Houston Rockets in the fourth quarter. So far this season, Curry has a 3 point percentage of 64.8%.
Klay Thompson and Jonathan Kuminga sat out the second game of the back-to-back due to minor ailments, which severely hampered the Warriors’ chances of winning. Moses Moody, a reliable three-point shooter, started for the first time this season in his 15th NBA season overall.
Brandin Podziemski got his first NBA action when he was given some playing time. The youngster was active on both ends of the court, contributing two assists and eight rebounds. In just his second NBA contest, Trayce Jackson-Davis dunked on a pass from Chris Paul for his first career points. His final stats were 13 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 0 turnovers, giving him a double-double.
On Wednesday, the Warriors will host the Sacramento Kings before leaving for a four-city road trip that will begin with an in-season Tournament game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, continue with back-to-back games in Cleveland and Detroit, and conclude against the defending champion Denver Nuggets.
