LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers’ star forward, is known for going all out for the holiday. His new terrifying costumes, which he and his wife Savannah presented tonight, are incredible.
This year’s theme was Beetlejuice, and Savannah dressed up as Miss Argentina (or, more precisely, Miss Akron, Ohio 2023) from the film. The plot of Tim Burton’s 1988 film revolves around a recently deceased couple who engage Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), an obnoxious and crafty “bio-exorcist” from the underworld, to scare the new inhabitants away. Miss Argentina (also known as The Receptionist and Miss Receptionist) appears in the Underworld’s waiting room window at some time.
The film also stars Alec Baldwin and Wynona Rider.
The film was recently adapted into an original musical, which has been touring the United States since last December. The musical will also make stops in Brazil, Sweden, and Australia over the next 18 months. The Lakers’ star is so dedicated to the holiday that he goes above and beyond simply dressing up. Last year, James documented his stunning holiday display at home on social media. There was a life-size Pennywise statue, a doll named Annabelle, and a life-size Michael Meyers from the Halloween flicks on the driveway.
Given how much LeBron loves Halloween and the fact that the Lakers don’t have a game that night, the only question is whether the James family will be handing out king-sized candy bars to trick-or-treaters.
