Lakers injury update: Rui Hachimura continues to sit out with a left eye injury

The Los Angeles Lakers brought back most of their team from their run to the Western Conference Finals, but the consistency and teamwork haven’t quite shown on the court yet.

In the beginning of the 2023–24 season, LeBron James said that the consistency piece would take some time. This has led to some disappointing losses. After going into OT, the Lakers lost to the Sacramento Kings. James had to play a lot more minutes than the team had planned for him.

It was disappointing for Los Angeles to lose the lead in overtime, but their game against the Orlando Magic was even tougher because it was the second game in a row. The Lakers won in the end, but they had to do it with fewer players than usual because Rui Hachimura wasn’t there.

Hachimura couldn’t play because he hurt his left eye, and Darvin Ham said that he and the medical team thought it would be best for him to sit out the game.

Ham said, “I don’t remember exactly when it happened.” “I remember him grabbing it, though, and waking up after sleeping with it. He must have had a hard night’s sleep because he’s been sensitive to light, which gives him headaches.” I thought he should skip this one.

Ham also said that Hachimura will be named “day-to-day” from now on.

Starting the season hasn’t been easy for Hachimura because he hasn’t looked totally comfortable scoring the ball. Now he might miss more than one game. The team has a history of being too careful with players’ health, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the forward missed some time.

Before they play again on Wednesday against the L.A. Clippers, the Lakers will have at least two days off to rest and heal. The Clippers have been very good against the Lakers this season, so Hachimura’s return would be a huge plus for the team.
