LeBron James, the great player for the Los Angeles Lakers, is still the player that all new NBA players try to beat. The forward for the Boston Celtics, Jayson Tatum, is one of these rising stars. He is already one of the best players in the game.
Tatum has played against LeBron many times and is very close to becoming a great, but he clearly has a lot of respect for the Heat star. And Tatum, like everyone else who watched the Lakers beat the Los Angeles Clippers in extra, couldn’t believe how good LeBron still is after 21 seasons.
James scored 35 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and gave out 7 assists in 42 minutes of play as the Lakers beat the Thunder by 5 points. During LeBron’s performance, Tatum went on social media and called it “ridiculous.” Tatum was certainly right when he said that because no one else has been even close to this level at this point in their NBA career. James not only plays well for the Lakers, but he also shows that he is still one of the best players in the league and that he can still do everything. LeBron led the Lakers in points scored, rebounds grabbed and assists. Against a good Clippers team, he also made four 3-pointers.
Of course, Tatum and LeBron will play each other again at some point. The rival Celtics will be playing at home on Christmas Day, and it will be the most-anticipated game in the NBA on the most important day of the year. The Celtics won both games last season, but one of them was called a close game because Tatum wasn’t called for a clear foul on LeBron’s possible game-winning layup at the end of overtime.
Tatum and James clearly have a lot of respect for each other. After all, James has done so much in his work, how could anyone not? It was perfectly normal for Tatum to feel upset after seeing LeBron play so well against the Clippers.
LeBron James of the Lakers says that the Clippers game is “more than just another game.”
The Lakers and Clippers’ rivalry has grown into one of the fiercest in the game over the last few years. Some people would play down the competition, but LeBron said that going up against the Clippers is more important than just any other game.
James said, “I think it’s always more than just another game every time you play cross-hall rival.” “It will be cross-town when they go to the arena next year, but for me, it’s always great to play against the best, and PG, Kawhi [Leonard], and Russ are three of the best players this league has ever seen.”
“And being able to compete on the floor against them while wearing purple and gold and them while wearing their colors is a blessing that you don’t take for granted.” That’s why it was fun.”
