Do you look forward to seeing Bradley Beal play for the Phoenix Suns this week? Beal’s addition to the starting lineup in Phoenix would be very helpful, especially on offense. He is now officially categorized as “questionable” for Wednesday’s game in the Windy City, the first time that has happened all season.
While encouragement for Kevin Durant is on the way, it may be a while before we see Devin Booker on the court alongside Bradley Beal and Durant. The main three are still delayed.
Head coach Frank Vogel said on Sunday, “He got an MRI last night, and it revealed a calf strain.” Clearly, then, an injury has occurred. First a toe, then an ankle, and now a calf strain, he’s aiming to return as soon as possible.
Booker feels something like poison from a snake bite shooting up his leg, so whatever it is, it hurts. Devin’s status of “out” against the Chicago Bulls indicates that he will lose further time due to injury.
We want Booker back as soon as possible out of pure short-term greed. We’re eager to witness and experience the Suns’ big three, but we must give them time to gel into the potent offensive unit we anticipate. You can’t win a championship with only raw talent, no matter how good it is. The team needs some court time.
But we have to take in this information with a long-term greedy mindset. Overuse injuries sustained in the spring might ruin the rest of the season. Booker’s return is desirable, but his health comes first.
Booker is a competitor. And he really, really wants to play. Last year, we saw this ourselves when he played through a groin injury on Christmas. After rushing Book back from his initial injury, the Suns ended up losing him for another 20 games.
