Warriors guard Klay Thompson has worn jeans and T-shirts at Oracle Arena for as long as anyone can remember, suggesting that he doesn’t give much thought to his daily attire.
Thompson also doesn’t spend much time thinking about what to wear because his mother and, more unusually, teammate Andre Iguodala’s wife do some of his apparel shopping for him. In a fashion-focused interview with ESPN, Thompson revealed the pair serve as his sometimes-personal shoppers.
“My mom and [Iguodala’s] wife go shopping together for us,” added Thompson. “… They have good senses of style.”
It’s not only Thompson who thinks Iguodala is the most fashionable Warrior. Iguodala’s impeccable style has been featured in numerous media outlets, most notably Vanity Fair. When Bleacher Report inquired about his thoughts on Klay’s attire, he offered constructive criticism.
Iguodala remarked, “[He] doesn’t know which way he wants to go.” Lay should stick to basics in his wardrobe. Every day, he should dress the same. He needs to adopt the attire of a CEO of a Silicon Valley company.
Thompson’s fashion sense has recently gravitated in that direction, as evidenced by his preference for simple sweaters and well-fitted denim over bold designs. He has mentioned to ESPN that Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Common Projects, Amiri, James Perse, and Paige are some of his favorite designers.
The amount of thought that goes into Thompson’s pregame clothes is also about what you’d expect.
“I either set it out the night before, or I decide quickly after my pregame nap,” stated the player.
