The Warriors kicked a game-winning field goal with no time remaining on Wednesday despite being heavily outmatched. The Golden State Warriors lost 108-105 to the Denver Nuggets when Steph Curry missed a driving layup with seven seconds remaining.
There was still time for the Warriors to blow a lead and lose the game. They were confident after winning seven of their first nine games on the road because to the efforts of key defenders like Draymond Green and Gary Payton II. They played the reigning champions in the final game of their four-game road swing.
Newcomer Trayce, Both Jackson-Davis and Brandin Podziemski performed admirably in place of Green and Payton. Jackson-Davis was plus-four after scoring eight points and grabbing two rebounds. Podziemski had five points, three rebounds and two assists.
Curry scored the most points (23), and he did so entirely from long range (all six of his makes). The Warriors had three players in double figures, all of whom made at least two 3-pointers: Klay Thompson (15 points), Andrew Wiggins (11 points), and Moses Moody (10 points).
The Warriors went 2-2 on their road trip and will play their season-opening home loss-maker against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Following that, they’ll play a home-and-home with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder.
