Rigorer, a global performance brand, and Austin Reaves recently released the AR1, the rising NBA star’s first branded shoe. The two companies announced their partnership for several years in July. The AR1 came out in a limited edition “Ice Cream” design on August 11, 2023, all over the world, thanks to a partnership with the global marketplace KICKS CREW.
Reaves was born and raised in Arkansas. He played college basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners and the Wichita State Shockers before getting a four-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers this summer. Reaves wore clothes from the Chinese company Rigorer during the NBA regular season and playoffs in 2023. Rigorer was started in 2014 by former CBA star Lin Chenyao. signing a long-term deal with Rigorer to offer affordable, high-quality performance basketball shoes to people all over the world.
“I grew up in Arkansas and didn’t get drafted, so now I have my own signature shoe. This is weird for me,” Reaves said. “The AR1 was made with input from the design team to improve performance and efficiency on the court.” The AR1 not only improves my general game, but it can also be used by any player.
As a child in Arkansas, Austin Reaves’ favorite summer treat was ice cream. The pastel pink and blue color scheme of the Austin Reaves x Rigorer AR1 “Ice Cream” signature shoe pays homage to that treat. Along with the shoes, they come in a special box with two sets of performance socks. The limited edition AR1 looks good and is full of performance technology that was inspired by Rigorer’s time as a basketball player. The performance-focused design is led by the Woven Cocoon Upper, which lets air flow and provides tight support; the low-court feel of the ShowTime Tech Foam Midsole, which is surrounded by EVA foam; and the Bubble Lacing System, which stops lace bite. An Anti-Torsion TPU Plate made of carbon fiber and nylon, an Anti-Slip Sole, Front Sidewall TPU Panels, and an Anti-Skid Heel are some of the other performance features.
The world launch partner KICKS CREW was the only place to buy the $100 USD Austin Reaves x Rigorer AR1 “Ice Cream” sneaker. The release took advantage of the platform’s image for letting shoppers from all over the world shop without any restrictions, linking official stores and brands to customers around the world.
