Lakers injury update: LeBron James questionable, Anthony Davis possible against Trail Blazers

With a sprained left calf, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers might not be able to play Sunday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. Anthony Davis, on the other hand, is likely to play despite having left hip/adductor pains. Jaxson Hayes is also likely to play even though he sprained his left ankle. Jarred Vanderbilt, Gabe Vincent, and Jalen Hood-Schifino are not.

LeBron James Responds to Lakers v Heat Last Two Minute Report

James hurt his calf and shin when he bumped legs with Kevin Durant early in the first quarter of Friday night’s win over the Phoenix Suns.

He finished the game, but he said it never felt better and was sore, which is why he is now listed as doubtful.

James said, “It never got loose.” “But I was driving, and KD’s knee hit me. The force of that hit my shin, and it pretty much locked up right then and there.” After getting hit in the foot, I just tried to stay calm and make sure everything was okay. I also tried to keep my foot as loose and stretched out as possible so I could play the game well. So pretty sore right now, which makes sense since the adrenaline is lowering. There was some damage to the play, so I iced it and did other things to make it feel better.

LeBron James won't back down from controversial Heat comments

We will keep an eye on this leading up to Sunday’s game, even though it doesn’t look like anything serious. James will probably be a game-time choice.

Davis, on the other hand, missed one game because of a hip issue before coming back against the Suns. His game wasn’t great, but he seemed to be getting better as it went on.

Davis said, “It took a while to get into the game because of the shots and stuff. I was just trying not to make it worse.” However, once the game began, I stopped thinking about it and began to play. There were a few times during the game when I felt it, but overall, it felt good.

There is a good chance that Davis will play, and the Trail Blazers already have a lot of problems, so the Lakers should still be able to win even if James can’t.
