The Warriors’ offensive was nearly unwatchable because to the No. 1 offense in the NBA, the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Warriors lost to the Timberwolves 116-110 on Sunday due to poor scoring and the absence of a reliable scoring option besides Steph Curry.
The Warriors have dropped four consecutive games and three in a row. They have an overall record of 6-5 and a home record of 1-3.
Still led by Curry’s 38 points, the Warriors shot only 38.5% from the field and 27.9% from 3-point range. Similar in build to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota slowed the pace of the game and pushed the Warriors into a half-court offense. Minnesota outscored Golden State 62-38 in the paint thanks in large part to the defensive efforts of Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Klay Thompson shot 5/16 from the field and 3/10 from beyond the arc for 16 points. Dario Saric and Jonathan Kuminga each had 11 points.
On Tuesday, the Warriors and the Timberwolves will meet once more in a group round match of the In-Season Tournament. Following a two-game set with Oklahoma City, this six-game home stand concludes with a visit from the Houston Rockets.
