The Warriors’ offensive was stymied to an almost unwatchable degree by the NBA’s best team, the Minnesota Timberwolves. On Sunday night, the Warriors fell 116-110 to the Minnesota Timberwolves due to a lackluster offensive performance and the absence of a reliable scoring option besides Steph Curry.
Currently, the Warriors’ losing streak stands at three games and four games in a row. They’re 6-5 overall but only 1-3 at home.
Again, Curry was the team’s leading scorer with 38 points, but the Warriors were outscored by one and shot just 38.5% from the field and 27.9% from deep. Since Minnesota’s roster resembled that of the Cleveland Cavaliers, they were able to push the Warriors into a half-court offense. Minnesota outscored Golden State 62-38 in the paint as Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns helped keep the Warriors from getting easy baskets.
Klay Thompson made 5 of 16 shots from the field and 3 of 10 from three-point range for 16 points. Both Dario Saric and Jonathan Kuminga scored in double figures.
On Tuesday, the Warriors will take on the Timberwolves once more in the In-Season Tournament. Next up on this six-game home stand are the Oklahoma City Thunder for a two-game set, followed by the Houston Rockets.
