Austin Reaves was replaced by Cam Reddish for his second start, and both players scored eighteen points apiece to help Los Angeles win. Even though LeBron James missed his first game of the season because of a bruise in his left calf, the Lakers were still able to win.
Los Angeles has won two straight games after making some adjustments to its starting lineup. D’Angelo Russell led the team with 11 points and 11 assists. The squad had only won three of their previous eight games.
With 15 of his points coming in the fourth quarter, Jerami Grant led the Trail Blazers with 23 points, while Shaedon Sharp chipped in with another 19. Portland’s Skyler Mays led the team in scoring with 15 points and 12 assists, followed by Matisse Thybulle with 14 points and Deandre Ayton with 12.
Malcolm Brogdon, Scoot Henderson, and Anfernee Simons were all out for Portland due to three different injuries. Due to a knee injury, Robert Williams III’s season is finished.
The inconsistent Trail Blazers began the season with a 0–3 record, won their next three, and are currently losing their third straight.
The Blazers led 57-56 at the half and 61-56 at the end of the third quarter before the Lakers took control. Los Angeles went on a 15-2 run with 3:41 remaining in the third quarter to take an 81-70 lead, which they maintained into the final quarter at 91-80.
