A few days after Damian Lillard was traded from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Milwaukee Bucks, he filed for divorce from his wife Kay’la. The NBA community was shocked to learn about the couple’s recent second anniversary. In his divorce documents, the seven-time All-Star provided the justification that there were “irreconcilable differences.”

But according to records submitted to the Clackamas County Circuit Court in Oregon, Kay’la appears to have torn Lillard.
The mother of three stated (via Radar Online) in the divorce filing:
Father has never been able to care for all three of our children on his own for an extended length of time without the assistance of family members, nannies, and/or assistants.
NBA player Damian Lillard and wife Kay’La Hanson have filed for divorce.
“When the kids lived with me full-time in my home, Father got to decide when and how often he saw them. Father would come over to play with the kids for thirty to an hour, either when I was there or with a nanny a few times a week, when he was in town and not traveling for basketball, media, endorsements, or his music efforts.
Damian Lillard has a history of sharing pictures of himself and his kids having a good time on social media. In one of his Instagram pictures, he once had the caption, “dad of all times.”
Regarding her decision to remain silent in spite of Lillard’s supposed inadequate parenting, Kay’la Lillard stated the following:
“I am aware of his hectic schedule and the several responsibilities he has. I also realize that the “Damian Lillard” brand must maintain its image of a family man. Even after we split up for a few months, I have persisted in promoting that image to the general public.
