The Lakers have been trying to fill a hole in their frontcourt by using a mix of power forwards, such as LeBron James and Rui Hachimura. Vanderbilt clearly deserves the spot because he plays so well with Davis on defense, but he doesn’t get much time if he slows down the Lakers’ attack.

The Lakers haven’t been great on either end of the court so far this season. They might keep playing Vanderbilt as the starting four to focus on defense, which worked well last year.
