Anthony Davis values the relationships he’s formed with his fellow players.

In an interview for the November issue of Haute Living, the 30-year-old NBA star, who was moved to the Los Angeles Lakers during the summer, discusses his relationship with his new teammate, LeBron James.

Davis will participate in James’ upcoming reboot of Space Jam, admitting to the magazine, “I hadn’t really thought about [doing anything Hollywood-related]; basketball is my focus.”

Davis says, “Obviously [though], me and LeBron are very close, and he asked if I wanted to be in a movie with him.” Since Space Jam is one of my all-time favorite movies, I figured this was a great chance for me to get involved.

During the interview, Davis also speaks up on relocating from New Orleans to California for his new team, noting “[Los Angeles] is just somewhere I wanted to be. I had a lot of business, or off-court opportunities, I wanted to pursue while I was in this city. I recently visited the city and fell in love with it; hence, I will be spending the next year here.

His final words are, “I think God gives everyone a certain gift, and I think this is my gift, my calling.”

“I try to make the best of it and have fun doing it knowing that, obviously, it’s going to stop later on in my life. So, while I still can, I intend to take full use of it and have a good time doing it… I’m going to do everything I can while I’m here [in L.A.] for things to turn out well.

Davis claims he is in the California city to “help the team win” and that he is able to switch on and off his work ethic as needed.

I enjoy the summers, but the rest of the year is spent working. I’m too serious about doing well to waste time on frivolous activities. He explains to Haute Living that this time of year is “all about work.”
