Steph Curry has been hurt. Draymond Green and Klay Thompson were thrown out of the game two minutes in. The Warriors’ offense, which was still trying to find its footing without its top three scorers, were able to keep the game close against the top-ranked Minnesota Timberwolves defense.
Golden State lost their fourth straight game 104-101 on Tuesday night as youngster Brandin Podziemski made his best case for more minutes coming forward. With his 23 points, he became the only Warrior this season to score more than 20 points in a game not named Curry. Dario Saric scored 21 points to become the second player to do so, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 0.1 seconds remaining that gave Golden State a 1-0 lead.
The Timberwolves, however, had slightly greater stamina. Karl-Anthony Towns made a 3 to give Minnesota a lead and Mike Conley nailed the dagger 3 to end it. The Warriors have now dropped four in a row, dropping their record to 6-6 overall and 1-4 at home.
The Warriors’ current home stand continues with games on Thursday and Saturday against the Oklahoma City Thunder and concludes with a Monday matchup against the surging Houston Rockets. The Warriors will travel to Phoenix to face the Suns just before Thanksgiving before returning home for yet another lengthy home stand.
