Jimmy Butler, an NBA player who wears Li-Ning shoes, dresses differently off the court. The Miami Heat player wore Blu Scarpa sneakers throughout the offseason, founded by his pal, footwear entrepreneur Matthew Chevallard.
Since meeting some years ago, Butler and Chevallard have formed an unbreakable friendship without corporate ties. However, they share a tenacious entrepreneurial mentality.
Butler’s Big Face Coffee was born in his hotel room during the 2019-20 NBA season in Disney World’s CоVID bubble in Orlando, Fla. Butler sold $20 coffee in the bubble, which social media enthusiasts loved. On International Coffee Day, Oct. 1, 2021, Butler created BigFace Brand, which sells branded gear and more in addition to coffee.
From his 2005 co-founding of Del Toro, a luxury me𝚗’s shoe brand, Chevallard expresses his entrepreneurial zeal. NBA stars and fashionistas loved the line, even if Chevallard left. He created Blu Scarpa, a “perfect arsenal for the modern man” inspired by 1980s sports fashion and lifestyle, using his premium attitude.
“I always support good people like Matt. Even though I usually butcher his last nаme—I’ll simply call him Matt, I call him Chevy—he knows I love him to deаth, Butler laughed. I’ll always support my buddies.
Tennis boosted Butler and Chevallard’s relationship recently.
Matt was one of the first to get me into tennis since he knows I’m competitive. He suԀԀenly asked, ‘Yo, Jimmy, do you play tennis?’ Do I play? I asked him. No. Can you defeat me? No.’ I looked at him that way, Butler laughed.
Tennis has always surrounded Chevallard. Inspired by Andre Agassi, whose casual stylish style was second only to his game on the court, Chevallard played throughout his infancy and adolescence. His friend Reilly Opelka, rated No. 38 in the world, revived his love of the sport, which had dwindled.
Butler, however, is new. The NBA star joked that he started tennis this summer “to bluff a little bit.”
Butler laughed, “When you watch my social, it always look like I’m scoring crаzy points and always look like I’m ripped and the photos are great. “If you haven’t seen me play, you don’t know how good or bad I am.”
Butler laced up the Blu Scarpa La Tennis shoe for tennis.
They care for me. Having a decent appearance helps me play well and style and profile. Butler stated Blu Scarpa makes her appear good. Not even getting the ball over the net worries me. When you go too close, I’ll throw the ball over your head and try to Һit you with it while dancing in my Blu Scarpas. When you look nice, you must play well.”
Butler wears the tennis shoe off-court also. Butler traveled to Colombia in September to purchаse coffee beans for BigFace while sporting the outfit, and Chevallard posted a photo on his Instagram account.
Butler said he wears Blu Scarpa when not Li-Ning or his preferred Ugg slippers.
Works on all surfaces. Butler described Blu Scarpa as a foot four-wheel-drive automobile. After tennis, I jump on a plane, get coffee, play golf, and maybe go out to dinner or have a hоt date. They excel in many ways.”
Butler and Chevallard designed three Blu Scarpa sneakers recently. Butler has worn the La Tennis silhouette, but the collaboration uses the La Runner.
The two produced an all-white shoe with classic gum outsoles, which the player said was his favorite, one with dark blue uppers on blue bottoms, and a third with two blue soles that are mostly white.
So far, only Butler has the collaborative shoes. If Butler had his way, they wouldn’t.
“I can’t tell Matt what to do, but I think everybody should have these,” he remarked.
Chevallard believes the company and Butler will release these shoes.
“The collaboration model seems contrived and abused. Jimmy and I discussed letting this simmer before acting officially, Chevallard added. To justify cooperation, you must tell a good tale. Collaboration should be long-term.”
Butler said he would help his friend’s company succeed regardless of a release or cooperation.
I offered to help Matt release one, two, or three pairs of shoes per year. I just want feedback, Butler said. “I want to tell him what I like and see if he can make it happen. I know he’ll love the idea and try to implement it. He’s my boy, and I want him to shine forever.”
