The Lakers tried to come back in the fourth quarter, but the Sacramento Kings beat them 125–110 to win their fourth straight game. LeBron James had his 108th triple-double of his career. He scored 29 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.
Los Angeles lost its third straight game after the Kings beat them for the fifth time in six games. Kevin Huerter and De’Aaron Fox both scored 28 points for the Kings. Huerter was able to make six three-point shots.
James had a triple-double for the first time in his 21st NBA season. He scored 28 points, passed the ball 11 times, and grabbed 10 boards. He now has the fifth-most in NBA history, breaking a tie with Jason Kidd.
The Kings have won three straight games against the Lakers in Los Angeles. They were ahead by 26 points early in the fourth quarter thanks to their three best scorers. I couldn’t believe the Lakers kept their stars in the game. Their run went from 30–13 to no more than nine points, but they still lost.
The Lakers had not lost at home in six games this season before this one. Russell dished out 28 points. Antony Davis only scored nine points (3 of 9) and grabbed nine boards in Los Angeles’ fourth game in six days.
The Kings beat the Lakers in overtime in Sacramento last month. In this game, they were ahead by 19 points after the first quarter. Coach Darvin Ham kept his team in the game even though they were down 106–80 with 11 minutes left.
The lead was 119-110 when Cam Reddish made a 3-pointer with 3:05 left. On the Lakers’ next two plays, though, James lost the ball and missed a 3-point shot.
The Lakers lost three straight games before beating Memphis by a huge score on Tuesday. It was their first big win of the season. They had a good run of games until they lost. Once more, Los Angeles had trouble stopping 3-point shots. After the Grizzlies made 20, they let the Kings make 16.
Davis scored four points in the first four minutes of the game. It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that he scored again.
