Meet the father of Boston Celtics player Jaylen Brown who is a 7-foot tall professional heavyweight boxer

With a strong 6-foot-7, 225-pound build and a tendency to play above the rim, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Jaylen Brown’s athleticism helped him move up the draft boards and get picked by the Boston Celtics with the third overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.

Boxer Marseilles recently came out of retirement to continue his career. He told boxing247.com that the main reason he chose to get back in the ring was to inspire his sons, Jaylen and Quenton.

“My main motivation for coming out of retirement was to show my kids that I never gave up on my dreams,” said Brown. “That’s why I didn’t want them to give up on theirs.” I’m very proud of both of my kids. My pride is mostly with Jaylen. He is a great athlete and a very smart person.
