In Thursday’s 128-109 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Golden State Warriors fell to 5 games in a row. In the absence of superstars Steph Curry and Draymond Green, the Warriors were unable to establish an offensive rhythm and were unable to stem the Thunder’s prolific shooting performance. At home, the Warriors are now 1-5 and have a record of 6-7.
From 3-point range, Oklahoma City was 59.4 percent. Jonathan Kuminga led the Warriors with 21 points and six rebounds as they sought a scorer to complement Curry. Six Warriors players scored in double digits. Andrew Wiggins had a more productive game, going 6-for-13 from the field for 12 points and 6 boards, albeit he missed all four of his 3-point attempts. Dario Saric has now scored in double figures in three straight games, with 12 points in this one.
Chris Paul’s shooting is starting to click; he scored 15 points on 4-for-6 shooting from beyond the arc. Three of Brandin Podziemski’s attempts were successful from beyond the arc.
Specifically, Thompson had a rough game, converting only one field goal out of ten attempts (1-of-6 from 3).
Isaiah Joe scored 23 points on 7-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 24 points—a player the Warriors didn’t see in Oklahoma City.
The X-rays for Gary Payton II’s sprained left ankle, which he suffered when he landed on top of Chet Holmgren’s foot while attempting a basket, were negative, and he exited the game early in the second quarter.
Before hosting the Houston Rockets, the Warriors play another game in Oklahoma City. After a single game against the Suns in Phoenix, they’ll head back to the Alamo City to face San Antonio Spurs rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama.
