The NBA champion and his wife Ayesha were both touched by the monument, which brought them happy memories. One of the first dates the pair had in Los Angeles took place at the Hollywood Museum.

Curry described having his own wax statue as “pretty special” when speaking to reporters. “Visiting the museum and posing for photos with the wax figures was one of our first experiences as a couple.”

In this lifelike wax sculpture of Stephen Curry’s 2014–2015 MVP performance, the ball is immobilized in his left hand. The 28-year-old athlete was meticulously reproduced by painters and sculptors over the period of four months, using hundreds of measurements.

The basketball player’s four tattoos—including his wife’s initial “A” on her ring finger—were the focus of the team’s efforts to create a resemblance of him. You can now see the completed sculpture at Madame Tussauds San Francisco; it cost around $350,000 in total.
