LeBron James, the star player for the Los Angeles Lakers, has decided not to get another ring. However, that doesn’t mean he won’t get any jewelry.
Eliantte, a high-end jeweler, made King James a unique chain with an iced-out pendant to honor his record as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.
The pendant has diamonds all over it and looks like a huge lion’s head wearing the Nike “crown” logo that is on all of his signature shoes.
There is a story about James’s NBA career on the back of the piece. It talks about the three teams he played for: the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat, and the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers and the NBA gave James this chain to honor the fact that he passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the player with the most total points. On his Instagram story, LeBron showed off the chain and thanked Eliantte and the Lakers for the gift.
He broke Abdul-Jabbar’s record, which had stood for 34 years, with an amazing game against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Los Angeles on February 7.
James had to score 36 points against OKC in order to break Abdul-Jabbar’s record of 38,387 points set in 1989.
With 11:09 left in the third quarter, the 38-year-old broke the record with a signature fadeaway shot. In the end, they lost 133–130 and he had 38 points, seven boards, and three assists.
James, on the other hand, doesn’t seem likely to be adding a ring to his collection any time soon.
James has hurt his right foot and can’t play. The team said he will be out for “significant time.”
NBA insider Shams Charania says that the injury will be looked at again in three weeks, but it’s possible that he will still need more time to heal.
Meanwhile, the Lakers are having a tough time without him. They have a 32-34 record and are just barely in the running for the NBA playoffs. They are ninth in the Western Conference, half a game ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Portland Trail Blazers.
