Jaylen Brown made a big difference in the first two games of the in-season tourney for the Boston Celtics.
The NBA is holding its first event during the regular season right now. Aside from the NBA Cup, players are also competing for the Most Valuable Player award, which is based on how well they do in both the Group Play and Knockout Rounds.
Tyrese Haliburton is currently the favorite to win this award. The guard for the Indiana Pacers scores 25.5 points, grabs 4.5 rebounds, gives out 14 assists, and steals two balls each game.
Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics got a special mention on the In-Season Tournament MVP Ladder. This puts him in the top 10 but not in the top 5. Every game, Brown scores 25.5 points, gives out 4.5 assists and grabs three boards.
A writer for NBA.com named Matthew Petersen wrote the following about Brown:
“Like Jimmy Butler, Brown is the leader of a well-balanced team that hasn’t lost yet.”
Boston has won all three games in East Group C, beating the Brooklyn Nets, the Toronto Raptors, and the Miami Heat. In their last two games in the group stage, they will play the Orlando Magic and the Chicago Bulls.
The Celtics’ next game is at FedExForum on Sunday, Nov. 19, against the Memphis Grizzlies. The game starts at 8:00 p.m. EST. It says that Brown might not play because he has a right adductor pain.
