On Monday night, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Houston Rockets 121-116 to end their six-game losing streak. Stephen Curry scored 32 points, including five 3-pointers, to extend his most recent NBA record. Klay Thompson also broke out of his shooting slump with a season-high 20 points.
Curry is the first player in league history to have four or more 3-pointers in his first 13 games of the season. He is currently the NBA’s all-time leader in 3-pointers made. 9 times an All-Star and 2 times MVP, the player was 5 of 9 from beyond the arc and 8 of 14 from the floor.
Curry has scored at least 25 points in 10 games this season, and he has scored 30 or more in seven of them.
After shooting 15 of 42 (3 of 19) from 3-point range in his previous four games, Thompson came out swinging against the Rockets, scoring 12 points in the first quarter and three 3-pointers. He made seven of his sixteen shots in the game.
In addition to his 15 points and 12 assists, Chris Paul helped Golden State defeat Houston for the 12th time in a row.
The Rockets trailed by 14 and were behind by double digits for the majority of the game the night after losing by one point to the Lakers.
For Houston, Alperen Sengun finished with 30 points and 13 rebounds. Jabari Smith Jr. scored 17, while Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks each scored 16.
Since losing their last five road games this season, the Rockets have not triumphed over the Warriors since February 20, 2020.
Despite having a poor start, Curry finished the second quarter with two three-pointers and a four-point play. Late in the third quarter, he made his historic fourth 3-pointer to give the Warriors a 100-87 lead.
