LaMelo Ball is getting better, and teammates Miles Bridges and Steve Clifford of the Hornets think he’s going to become a superstar.
The Washington Wizards were defeated by the Charlotte Hornets, 117-114. Charlotte overcame an 18-point deficit in the fourth quarter, despite trailing virtually the whole game. Miles Bridges, their All-Star, and LaMelo Ball were the main contributors to their victory. In the team’s history, they became the first-ever Hornets combo to record a 30-point double-double.
It’s also Ball’s seventh 30-point performance in the last nine games. He began that run of 30-point games early in November while they were traveling in Dallas. He’s got a nice rhythm going on. He hasn’t decreased his output since then.
LaMelo Ball on her way to becoming a superstar?
LaMelo Ball was named an All-Star in 2022 and is currently a one-time member of the team. Due to injuries, he regressed the next season, but his return to health appears to have everyone in the league excited once more. Nobody has discussed his play more than Steve Clifford, his head coach. More precisely, the Charlotte strategist spoke about Ball’s development as a creator and scorer.
It goes without saying that his passing range and vision are really impressive. Clifford remarked, “He’s just playing at a really high level.” Ball recorded a game-high 34 points and 12 assists in the end. In an effort to bring his side back into the contest, he was able to display his complete offensive toolkit.
Clifford spoke further about his development as a ball-scorer and how he’s improved in that area.
“You know what he’s doing? He’s finishing much more skillfully around the basket than he ever has.” The Hornets coach continued, “It’s always been like 10 feet and in; if he had a weakness, that was it. “He didn’t play as much tonight, but he has been setting everything up by playing a lot more down along the baseline. Observing him, I also believe that he is more stronger than he was the previous season, so I believe that frequently when he drives the ball, he can make more contact and, ideally, start to get to the free-throw line more frequently.
Miles Bridges also needed to express affection.
