December 26 – Cleveland’s Anthony Davis scored 32 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to help the Los Angeles Lakers beat them 121–115 on Saturday night.

For the Lakers, LeBron James scored 22 points, Max Christie scored 12, and D’Angelo Russell scored 10. The Lakers have won four of their last five games.

Los Angeles also got good play from its bench. Christian Wood (13 points) and Jaxson Hayes (10) both scored 10 or more points, and Austin Reaves had 15 points and 10 assists.

Evan Mobley scored 18 points, Donovan Mitchell scored 22 points, and Jarrett Allen scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for the Cavaliers. They had won four of their last five games.

Cleveland also got good work from its bench, with Georges Niang scoring 13 points and Craig Porter scoring 11.

With a one-point lead going into the fourth quarter, the Cavaliers were ahead of both teams at the start of the game. Neither team had a lead of more than four points until Davis made two free throws with 5:46 left to give his team a 108-103 lead.

With 2:25 left, it was a three-point game after Max Strus made a three-pointer. The Cavaliers won the challenge on a foul against James.

Mobley made a dunk and was fouled, but he missed the free throw that came next, putting Cleveland down by one point, 113–111. Then James made a short jump shot, stole a pass on the other end, and scored on a dunk in transition to make it 117–112. There were 1:12 left in the game.

The Cavaliers scored on a lob pass to make it 2-2, and James missed a 3-pointer. With 23.8 seconds left, Mitchell missed an open jumper on the other end.

With 19.6 seconds left, Reaves made two free throws to give his team a 119-115 lead. He then made two more to seal the win.

In the first half, both teams made 60.9 percent of their shots from the floor. The Cavaliers made 53.2 percent, giving them a 71-70 lead at halftime.

Ahead 40–35 at the end of the first quarter, both teams had made more than 55% of their shots from the floor. Mitchell scored 13 points for Cleveland during that time.
