Two possible Magic trade candidates coming in the 2023–2024 Camp for NBA players the other hand, the Magic have been in the bottom three of the Eastern Conference every year since 2012 and have only made the playoffs twice since then. However, there is a lot of reason to be optimistic in Orlando. One of the best young wing duos in the league is Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero, who is a candidate for Rookie of the Year. Wendell Carter Jr. looks like he will be the long-term starting center, and there are a lot of skilled guards to choose from. The most likely way for the Magic to get guards from that group is through trade, even though none of them have proven themselves as starting backcourt players yet. At least five young players are competing for two starting point guard spots. The team may decide to make some changes in the backcourt since their two starting frontcourt players can also handle the ball, as well as Joe Ingles, who they just signed for two years. In the past few weeks, Cole Anthony’s exit has become more likely. His departure would give the Magic much-needed depth in the backcourt. Anthony was the 15th overall pick in the 2020 draft by the Magic. He has shown promise in his three years there, but he has mostly been a bench player (he started just four games last season), and the team just got another guard, Anthony Black, who was picked sixth overall in the 2023 draft. Before, he had to compete with Jalen Suggs for playing time off the bench. Markelle Fultz and Gary Harris were also in the running for a starting spot. With Black in the mix, Orlando might not be making the most of Cole Anthony’s huge skill one has forgotten about that as the season has built up. The name Anthony has come up in trade rumors lately, and it makes sense that many teams would want to get a former lottery pick with as much scoring ability as Anthony. Even though he’s not perfect, Orlando might be missing out on his full ability as an NBA player if they don’t give him the right help.
