Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns is doubtful to play in Wednesday’s Raptors game in Toronto because of a contusion in his right foot.
The inclusion of Durant to the injury report came later than expected, so he sat out Friday’s victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. His play in Sunday’s win over the New York Knicks was just as dubious. It was decided that Durant will sit again based on his reaction to his typical solitary pregame exercise in New York.
According to azcentral’s Duane Rankin, head coach Frank Vogel mentioned Durant being “close” after Sunday’s game. That, along with Durant’s court time at Madison Square Garden, indicates that he will not miss many more games due to his foot.
Durant has had an incredible start to the season thus far, shooting 53.3% from the field and 52.2% from beyond the arc. He also averages 7.1 boards, 5.5 assists, 4.0 turnovers, and 1.2 blocks a game. During the season’s opening fifteen games, he saw action.
Guard Grayson Allen’s status is in doubt following his late scratch on Sunday due to sickness. Allen has been an integral part of the Suns’ success this season, starting every game he has played in and averaging 11.9 points per game while shooting 47.5% from outside the arc.
Nassir Little, a forward, was added to the roster after being removed for personal reasons. In his last five games, Little has played an average of 21 minutes while averaging 9.6 points and 3.8 rebounds.
Rankin claims that Little returned to Phoenix to be with his daughter after she was born.
Out with a back injury is Bradley Beal.
The Raptors will face the Suns in Game 2 of a back-to-back after Tuesday’s game against the Nets in Brooklyn.
