No contest at all for Devin Booker’s ultra-contemporary Arizona mansion.

In the March issue of Architectural Digest, the 25-year-old Phoenix Suns player let readers inside his desert haven, showcasing the spectacular design that gives the impression that the house floats on water as well as its extremely fashionable furnishings.

Regarding the second, it appears that his 26-year-old girlfriend Kendall Jenner gave him a prop for his design services.

The property was done by the Clements Design team—a mother-son duo—Tony and Kathleen Clements. Clements also helped outfit Kendall’s Los Angeles home and Kris’s Hidden Hills, Calif. estate, which were featured in the magazine in March 2019 and September 2020, respectively. Famous people love this firm; they’ve done work for Jessica Alba and Ellen DeGeneres, among many others.

“I consider myself fortunate to be surrounded by people with great style,” according to Booker. “Whenever I walk into my friends’ homes, I’m like a sponge, asking questions and absorbing what I see.”

He and Kendall’s early days of the COVID-19 pandemic road trip to Arizona was another inspiration on the design.

“We visited Roden Crater and were astonished by the experience,” he writes, mentioning the enormous art piece by James Turrell inside a volcano. After that, he bought an LED wall sculpture by the artist to display in the dining room. According to him, “It’s one of my favorite parts of the home, having this beautiful piece of art that me and my guests can appreciate while enjoying a meal.”

Kendall also owns an artwork by Turrell—a huge shimmering oval that graced the cover of AD—in her home. Turrell has always had a major influence on me. “Kanye [West], who works with him, introduced me to his work,” Jenner stated back then.

Among Booker’s other notable features are a guest house, an outdoor fire pit, and a swimming pool that takes design cues from Bali. Inside, the Clements chose or had constructed furniture to fit an NBA-sized frame. Included in this is a 12-foot sofa and a poker table that has been magnified so that Booker and his teammates may relax on it.

The athlete’s long-term goal is realized with the final product.

“When I was a kid growing up in Michigan, I’d close my eyes before bed and imagine what my house might one day look like,” according to him. “The size or shape of the home would be different depending on the night, but the interiors were always the same: modern with a bit of nostalgia in the mix.”
