Despite this was the first-ever meeting between Steph Curry and Chet Holmgren in an NBA game, it was far from their first encounter on a basketball court. 

Chet Holmgren and Steph Curry both recall the day, many years ago, when they crossed paths at their respective camps.

“That year or the year prior, he came up and crossed me up at my own camp,” Curry remembered. He suffered a tough injury early in his career, but it’s great to see him back on the field and performing at a high level again.

A sense of completeness washed over Holmgren when she faced Steph Curry in competition. Holmgren had a fantastic experience regardless of his loss.

Holmgren was asked about his first encounter with him in the NBA. He said it previously, but there are excellent players in that league, and he is one of them. You need to keep tabs on him at all times. It is a wonderful first full-circle moment, I think you could say, to have gone to his camp however many years ago and now to be in the same level as him and compete.

On Wednesday night, Chet Holmgren and Steph Curry played each other for the first time, but that was definitely not the last. This month, the clubs will meet twice more. A new standard, I hope, will be set by tonight’s games.
