The Los Angeles Lakers have had a lot of sick players this season (2023–24), and players have come and gone from the team.
When it comes to wing depth, the Lakers have had the most trouble. Jarred Vanderbilt has yet to play, and Cam Reddish lost time with an adductor injury. Along with that, Rui Hachimura missed some time this week because he broke his nose in their loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Hachimura had surgery to fix the broken bone, and everything seemed to go well.
But things look better now that the Lakers have released their list of injuries for their game against the Houston Rockets on Saturday. Since Vanderbilt and Hachimura aren’t on it, they should be able to play. Of course, Reddish and Jaxson Hayes will also be back.
Vanderbilt will play in his first game of the season. He has been sitting out with left heel bursitis. Hachimura broke his nose a week ago and hasn’t played since.
Because he’s one of the few players on the team who can make his own shot and crash the boards, Hachimura’s return would help the Lakers a lot. It’s been hard for the team to score and get points in the half-court this season, so Hachimura’s absence is felt deeply.
The Japanese player shouldn’t have too much trouble with their game since many other players have played with masks on to protect their eyes.
Another great player to have back is Vanderbilt, but he may only be able to play a certain number of minutes because he was out for so long.
Anthony Davis doesn’t want to say anything until the Lakers get better.
It’s hard to judge L.A. because they’ve lost 20 games so far this season. Anthony Davis has been in almost all of the games so far. He won’t say what he thinks until he sees the team when everyone is healthy.
