Real Madrid defeated Granada 2-0 at the Bernabeu on Saturday, taking the top spot in La Liga once again.Girona needed three points to catch up to Carlo Ancelotti’s club after the Catalans defeated Valencia 2-1 earlier in the day.

When Brahim Diaz grabbed a brilliant through-ball from Toni Kroos and hoisted it over replacement goalkeeper Andre Ferreira, Real Madrid took the lead. The home team, especially Jude Bellingham, became more and more irate with the referee when they were unable to increase the score during the opening frame.Even though Real continued to push, they were eventually unable to add any more goals in the first half. Rodrygo was there to score after Bellingham’s effort was saved.Next Saturday, Real will play against Real Betis, while the following day, Granada will play Athletic Club.

Speaking Point-ACTUAL MADRID ADVANTAGE OF SQUAD DEPTH

For Real Madrid, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr. will be crucial players when the team is at its best, despite the importance of Rodrygo, Brahim Diaz, and Joselu.Bellingham looked frustrated on Saturday night because the referee did not give him the benefit of the doubt, and Carlo Ancelotti needed his squad to look elsewhere for motivation.Rodrygo sealed the three points, Joselu kept up his strong play up front, while Brahim Diaz maintained his excellent form. Real can be content with their current strikers, even though they will want to have their top players back.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH – BRAHIM DIAZ (REAL MADRID)

Diaz made his way back from AC Milan talking about the lessons he had learned from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and while his stature is not quite the same, his technical ability and vital goalscoring here shows a similarity with the Swedish legend.
