In his 12th season as an NBA player, the 30-year-old has grown larger and more muscular. He is an eight-time All-Star.
In 2012, Davis was selected by the New Orleans Hornets with the first overall choice in the draft.
At six feet nine inches tall and a thin 221 pounds, he entered the league.
Following his 13.5 point per game rookie season, Davis led the league in blocks three times and was selected to the All-Star team six times in a row while playing with the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Kentucky native joined the Lakers in 2019 and, with LeBron James, won his first NBA championship during the 2020 COVID bubble.
But during the past three seasons, Davis has played in fewer than sixty games.
The big man gained mass during the season in the offseason.
The Lakers shared pictures of Davis working out in the gym on social media.
He was observed doing pull-ups and weightlifting.
Davis appeared physically dominant, with arms and biceps that were larger than ever.
He was described as six feet ten inches and 253 pounds last season.
So far in the 2023 season, it seems that Davis’s remarkable bodily metamorphosis has enabled him to remain on the court.
The native of Illinois has participated in 19 out of 20 games.
Compared to last season’s average of 25.9 points per game, he now only averages 22.6 points per game. However, he has made fewer field goal attempts (15.4) than 2022 (17.2).
Davis averages his second-best number of blocks per game (2.7) and has his second-best free throw shooting (84 percent).
LeBron averages 24.8 points per game for Los Angeles, which has an 11-9 record and is ranked as the seventh seed.
