LeBron James, the 38-year-old basketball legend, has apparently decided to tear down his current home and start from scratch on his “dream home,” according to Front Office Sports. James purchased the 13,000-square-foot Spanish Mission-style estate in 2020, and its stunning features have drawn notice.
James started a court struggle three years ago after purchasing the land in order to obtain building licenses for the rebuilding of the 2.5-acre area. According to multiple accounts, the estate featured tennis courts, a pool and pool house, and one of the biggest driveway gates in Los Angeles.
As reported by House Beautiful, the mansion featured striking features before to deconstruction, including soaring ceilings, seven fireplaces, four bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a screening room, a trophy room, and a breakfast terrace with a teal-tiled fountain.
Although James’ new residence’s actual layout is still unknown, rumors have it that the four-time NBA champion may choose a leaner style and do away with the bronze statues that formerly graced the property. In his other homes, which include a 12,000-square-foot house in Miami and his main residence in Brentwood, California, which has all-white furnishings and a minimalist design, James has previously adopted a modern approach.
The outcome of this restored house is a matter of anticipation as it may one day serve as James’ safe haven upon retiring from the NBA. James publicly considered retiring after the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals in May, but it is generally anticipated that he will play for his 21st season in the autumn.
