The Lakers Thanksgiving Feast, put on by East West Bank, keeps the giving spirit alive!
This year, the Lakers held a feast at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier for more than 150 people from community groups in the area. People from the Boys & Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley, the LAFD Frank Hotchkin Memorial Center, Mixed Roots, Heart of Los Angeles, Watts Skills Academy, and the Boys & Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley ate a full Thanksgiving meal outside from Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ.
A lot of people from the community were excited to see Derek Fisher, Robert Horry, and Max Christie, a player for the Lakers, serving the food. After the tasty meal, everyone could go on as many rides as they wanted at Pacific Park and play some fun and exciting games. During the night, basketballs signed by these famous people were given away in a giveaway, which surprised and delighted many of the kids and adults who were there.
East West Bank is putting on the Season of Giving, a series of holiday-themed events that are meant to bring joy and holiday cheer to underserved groups in the area. Next month there will be a Holiday Party for Kids to keep the fun going.
