East West Bank puts on the Lakers Thanksgiving Feast, which keeps the giving spirit alive!
This year, the Lakers fed more than 150 people from community groups in the area at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier. A full Thanksgiving meal from Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ was eaten outside by people from the Boys & Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley, the LAFD Frank Hotchkin Memorial Center, Mixed Roots, Heart of Los Angeles, Watts Skills Academy, and the Boys & Girls Club of West San Gabriel Valley.
A lot of people in the neighborhood were happy to see Derek Fisher, Robert Horry, and Lakers player Max Christie serving the food. Following the tasty meal, everyone was free to enjoy as many rides and games at Pacific Park as they pleased. During the night, these famous people signed basketballs as a gift. Many of the kids and adults who were there were surprised and happy about it.
Holiday-themed events called “Season of Giving” are being put on by East West Bank to bring joy and holiday cheer to groups in the area that don’t get enough help. There will be more fun next month at a Holiday Party for Kids.
