Chris Paul ushered in the holiday season by hosting an event for 500 kids from various Los Angeles community organisations on Christmas Eve.
Together with kids from the Watts-Willowbrook Boys & Girls Club, L.A.’s Best After School Enrichment Programme, the Brotherhood Crusade, and Leaps n Boundzโan organisation that offers social, recreational, and adaptive sports programming for people with special needsโthe nine-time NBA All-Star and captain of the Los Angeles Clippers went shopping at three Target locations. Every child received a hundred gift cards to be used for Christmas purchases. One guideline is to buy at least one gift for someone else.
Four military families received support during the process of moving into permanent accommodation in addition to money for the children’s shopping trip.
“This is something I look forward to every year,” remarked the incredibly giving Paul. “A small number of the kids don’t buy anything for themselves.” They’ll buy presents for their parents, friends, and siblings. It is a great honour to be able to support military families and spend the day with them.
The Chase-sponsored Christmas events were set to be co-hosted by actor/comedian Kevin Hart and writer/producer Paul. However, he was unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict.
In order to benefit his Chris Paul Family Foundation, which aims to advance equality in sports, education, and life in general for the benefit of families and individuals, Paul co-chaired the event. The foundation provides resources that strengthen and promote the healthy development of healthy communities. Leading philanthropy organisation The Chris Paul Family Foundation will continue to use its influence to improve communities both domestically and abroad.
