For the Heat, Tyler Herro scored 22 points, Duncan Robinson chipped in 16 and Kyle Lowry finished with 12 in what turned out to be his first Christmas victory. For Miami, which led 56–36 in rebounds, Jaquez also pulled down ten rebounds.

Joel Embiid, the reigning MVP and two-time defending scoring champion, was sidelined for Philadelphia’s game due to an ankle issue. For the 76ers, Kelly Oubre Jr. contributed 25 points and Tobias Harris scored 27. Mo Bamba finished with 18 points, Anthony Melton had 15, and Tyrese Maxey, who went 4 for 20 from the field, had 12.
