Booker Shines with 35 Points, Beal’s Return Boosts Suns in Handing Hornets 10th Straight Loss, 133-119

The Phoenix Suns, with Bradley Beal back in the lineup, defeated Charlotte 133-119 on Friday night behind 35 points from Devin Booker, handing the Hornets their tenth straight defeat.

After missing the previous five games due to an injured right ankle, Beal helped the Suns take a decisive lead in the first quarter with four assists. In 30 minutes, he ended with seven assists, six points, and three rebounds.

Following off his triple-double against Houston on Wednesday, Kevin Durant scored 21 points and added 11 assists, while Booker contributed seven assists. Booker shot 10 of 18 overall and 5 of 7 from three-point range.

For the Suns, Eric Gordon scored 21 points on 7 of 12 3-point attempts, while Jusuf Nurkic finished with 24 points and 16 rebounds. For the first time since their seven-game winning streak came to an end on Nov. 29, the Suns won back-to-back games. Phoenix had been 3-9 since then.

With Gordon Hayward (left calf strain) and LaMelo Ball (right ankle sprain), both side injured, the Hornets were led by Terry Rozier, who scored 42 points on 14 of 21 shots, including 8 of 11 from three-point range. Rozier was one game away from his best ever. Brandon Miller, a rookie, scored twenty points. Charlotte last triumphed over Toronto at home on December 8.

For the Hornets, Miles Bridges finished with 11 points and seven rebounds, while Cody Martin and P.J. Washington each scored 13 points.
