In the Bucks’ 141-135 victory on Saturday, Damian Lillard, who had a career-high 45 points, provided 17 points and eight assists in addition to Khris Middleton’s 26 points. Malik Beasley contributed 13 points, and Brook Lopez contributed 15 points and 11 rebounds.
The Bucks have defeated the Pistons in 21 of their previous 22 regular-season encounters, including the previous nine games. On Monday, they finished the four-game season series sweep.
Marcus Sasser scored 23 points to lead Detroit. Jaden Ivey scored 17 points while Isaiah Stewart finished with 19 points, eight rebounds, and five blocks.
Before the half, neither team led by more than ten points.
After a scoreless first quarter, Milwaukee took a 58-56 lead into the half.
After scoring 13 points in the first half, Antetokounmpo led the Bucks. For the Pistons, Ivey and Sasser both scored ten points.
With 11:30 remaining in the third quarter, Antetokounmpo and Middleton gave the Bucks a 62-56 lead after dunks to start the second half.
The Bucks led 82–73 after a 9–2 run. During the run, Beasley scored five points and helped Antetokounmpo make a layup.
The Pistons scored 6-2 to end the third quarter and reduce the lead to 89-85. Five of the Pistons points came from Sasser.
With 10:46 remaining in the fourth quarter, Alec Burks cut the Pistons’ deficit to 93-92 with a 3-pointer. With 9:24 left, Sasser’s fastbreak layup put Detroit ahead 96-95.
Lillard’s 3-pointer with 6:46 left gave Milwaukee a 107-105 advantage. Ivey and Sasser scored on back-to-back possessions to put Detroit up again.
Lopez responded with a three-point shot, giving the Bucks a one-point advantage. Antetokounmpo then cut the lane for a layup.
Ivey attempted a pull-up jump shot, but Antetokounmpo answered with two free throws. He then found Beasley for a 3-pointer with 3:30 left, bringing the score to 117-111.
The Pistons committed a turnover, which Lopez dunked and Middleton hit a three-pointer to give Milwaukee a 122-111 lead.
