In addition, he created NBA history by surpassing Richard Jefferson (14,904) to take the 153rd spot on the all-time scoring list.
Mike Mitchell (15,016) will be the next guy for Thompson to pass after Jefferson.
The Warriors, who hold the 12th seed in the Western Conference, advanced to 21-24 in their first 45 games with the win.
They have improved to 8-11 in the 19 games they have played away from the Chase Centre and are now riding a two-game winning streak.
The Warriors will play Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night at State Farm Arena in Georgia after defeating the Grizzlies.
Thompson is a veteran NBA player in his eleventh season (he has played for Golden State his whole career). In 43 games, he has averaged 17.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists while shooting 42.1% from the field and 38.2% from three-point range.
The Grizzlies, meanwhile, are currently ranked 13th in the Western Conference after going 18-31 in their first 49 games.
